Credibility

Credibility = have authority to speak on a topic

You are credible in a topic if you have any of the following:

• past lived experience
• a professional background
• education

Demonstrate your credibility by talking about the above criteria.

Do say:

• “As someone who has been teaching for the last 30 years, I have found…”
• “When I migrated from Jamaica 20 years ago, I didn’t realize that…”

Do not say:

• “I am credible because …”
