Small vs large groups

Group size will affect the way you interact with them.

Small groups

  • Good for decision making and communicating information
  • Encourage connection and cooperation between members
  • Engage with the speaker by nodding and offering reassuring comments occasionally
  • Address questions and ideas as they come up

Large groups

  • Good for communication information, but not for decision making
  • Making connections can be difficult
  • Avoid distracting behaviours so you don’t disrupt other audience members
  • Wait until the end of the presentation before asking questions or offering ideas
