Small vs large groups
Group size will affect the way you interact with them.
Small groups
- Good for decision making and communicating information
- Encourage connection and cooperation between members
- Engage with the speaker by nodding and offering reassuring comments occasionally
- Address questions and ideas as they come up
Large groups
- Good for communication information, but not for decision making
- Making connections can be difficult
- Avoid distracting behaviours so you don’t disrupt other audience members
- Wait until the end of the presentation before asking questions or offering ideas
