- Meet the needs of the organization
- Practical to implement
- Made within a reasonable length of time
Types of decisions
Decisions take one of three forms:
- Yes/no
- Solution-based
- Open-ended
- Start with brainstorm, then focus down
Factors in productive decision making
The following factors can help a team’s decision making ability.
- Individuals all have strong communication skills
- Power balanced among team members
- Group size less than 10
- Group members are familiar with each other
- No unresolved past conflicts
